FESTIVAL CLASSES
Listed below are
the festival class sections for the
'2008 Festival'
to be held on
Qualification Cards MUST only be given to the three highest
exhibitors not already qualified within the first six places that complies with
the qualification rules of the
relevant festival class.
(i.e. If you
hold an open Mountain & Moorland class, the qualification card MUST only be
given to the highest pony
registered with their respective Pure Breed Society Stud Book in
the class)
Recipients of cards must comply
with the general rules of
South West Pony
Association and rules for festival section.

FESTIVAL QUALIFIERS
Pure, Part Bred & Anglo Arab In-Hand
All
Equines in this section MUST be registered.
Classes
may be split into ages and or height. Pure Breds may have there own classes.
Pure, Part Bred & Anglo Arab Ridden
Stallion, Mare or Gelding.
All animals MUST be registered.
Riders any age. (see rules for
Ridden Stallions)
Classes
may be split into height sections. Pure Breds may have there own class.
Riding Horse In-Hand
Riding Horses to exceed 148cms.
Classes
may be split into ages and or height sections.
Riding Horse Ridden
Mare or Gelding. Hacks not to exceed
160cms. Riding Horses exceeding 148cms.
Riders to have attained their 15th birthday by 1st
January in the current year.
Classes
may be split between Hacks & Riding Horses.
Cobs Ridden
Mare or Gelding. Exceeding 148cms but not
to exceed 155cms.
Riders to have attained their 15th birthday by 1st
January in the current year.
Classes
may be split between Lightweight & Heavyweight.
Coloured Horse/Pony In-Hand
To
include SKEWBALD, PIEBALD, APPALOOSA,
SPOTTED, PALOMINO and DUN.
Classes
may be split into ages and or Colour Type.
Coloured Horse/Pony Ridden
To
include SKEWBALD, PIEBALD, APPALOOSA,
SPOTTED, PALOMINO & DUN. Stallion, Mare or Gelding.
Riders any age. (see rules for

Classes

Hunters In-Hand
To exceed 148cms.
Classes
may be split into ages.
Hunters Ridden
Mare or Gelding. Exceeding 148cms.
Riders to have attained their 16th birthday before 1st
January in the current year.
Mountain & Moorland Part Bred In-Hand
All
Part Breds must be registered.
Classes
may be split into ages and or height.
Mountain & Moorland Part Bred Ridden
Stallion, Mare or Gelding. All M&M Part Breds must be
registered.

Show / Riding Pony Lead Rein
Not
to exceed 122cms. Riders not to have attained their 7th
birthday before 1st January in the current year.
Show / Riding Pony First Ridden
Not
to exceed 122cms. Riders not to have attained their 10th
birthday before 1st January in the current year.
Show/Riding Pony Ridden
Mare or Gelding. Not to exceed 148cms.
Riders
must be correct age for height of pony they ride:-
n/e 128cms, Riders not to have attained their 13th
birthday before 1st January in the current year.
ex 128cms - n/e 138cms, Riders not to have attained their 15th
birthday before 1st January in the current year.
ex 138cms - n/e 148cms, Riders not to have attained their 17th

Show Hunter Pony Lead Rein
Not
to exceed 122cms. Riders not to have attained their 8th
birthday before 1st January in the current year.
Show Hunter Pony First Ridden

Show Hunter Pony In-Hand

to exceed 153cms.

Mare or Gelding. Not to exceed 153cms.

Mare or Gelding. All ponies must be registered with their

year.
Large Breeds. Riders not to have attained
their 18th birthday before 1st January in the current
year.
Junior Open Ridden (excluding M&M)
Mare or Gelding. Any Type or Colour.

Mountain & Moorland Lead Rein
To
be registered in their respective Pure Breed Society Stud Books.

be registered in their respective Pure Breed Society Stud Books.
Not

Judged 60% Performance to include Freestyle Show, and 40%
Conformation.

Veteran Horse/Pony In-Hand
Horse or Pony. Eighteen years old and
over.

may be split into 18 - 25 years and 25 and over.
Veteran Horse/Pony Ridden
Horse or Pony. Eighteen years old and
over.

X Race Horse In-Hand
Stallion, Mare or Gelding. Four years and over with a Weatherby’s Passport. The equine MUST have raced either
on the flat, over jumps or point-to-point and MUST be entered in its registered name. To be judged on the suitability
to compete in all disciplines.
X Race Horse Ridden
Stallion, Mare or Gelding. Four years and over with a Weatherby’s Passport. The equine MUST have raced either
on the flat, over jumps or point-to-point and MUST be entered in its registered name. To be judged on the suitability
to compete in all disciplines. Riders to have attained their 15th birthday before 1st January in the current year.

Mare or Gelding. NO COLTS or STALLIONS.
Handlers
