Welcome to the South West Pony Association's Welsh Show.

The show includes extensive Ponies (UK) and SWPA qualifying classes,

along with a full range of Welsh Medal classes.

 Also included are the prestigious

SWPA Kitt-Kraiburg Supreme In-Hand, and

SWPA Twrcoed Supreme Ridden Qualifiers.

So take care to read the schedule carefully. If you feel we can improve

From the A48 or the B4245 turn into Crick Road and follow the signs for The David Broome Event Centre.

Look out for the SWPA ‘Lorry Parking’ signs.

The first, second & third placed exhibits in class H8 will qualify for the 2008 SWPA Owner Bred Championship.

 

MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND IN-HAND CHAMPIONSHIP:

1st & 2nd placed exhibits from classes H1 – H8 to compete.

 

The SWPA Kitt-Kraiburg Supreme In-Hand Championship Qualifier.

The Champion from this Mountain & Moorland In-Hand section will qualify for the 2008 SWPA Kitt-Kraiburg Supreme In-Hand Championship.

To be held at the SWPA Championship Show on 13 September 2008.

(If the Champion has qualified then the qualification may go to the Reserve Champion)

 

MINI RIDDEN CLASSES

R9           Novice Lead Rein. Any type. Mare or Gelding,. Four years old and over. Not exceeding

                 122cms. Riders NOT to have won any Lead Rein class prior to the date of this Show.

                 Riders not to have attained their 9th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be

                 shown in a SNAFFLE BRIDLE. The lead rein to be attached to the noseband only.

 

R10         Beginners First Ridden. Any Type. Mare or Gelding. Four years old and over. 128cms

                 and under. Riders NOT to have ridden in any Open First Ridden class prior to the date of

                 this Show. Riders not to have attained their 10th birthday before 1st January in the current

                 year. To be shown in a SNAFFLE BRIDLE.

May be accompanied in the ring, but the child must be seen to be riding the pony unaided.

 

The first & second placed ponies from class R10 will qualify for the 2008 SWPA Beginners First Ridden Championship.

Young Judges Competition

Class R14 is a Young Judges’ Qualifier. Please see Competition Rules and Marking System on

The first & second placed exhibits in class H26 will qualify for the 2008 Veteran Horse Pony and Riders Club Championships.

 

H27         X Race Horse. Stallion, Mare or Gelding. Four years and over with a Weatherby’s Passport.            

                 The equine MUST have raced either on the flat, over jumps or point-to-point and MUST be  entered in its registered name.

                 To be judged on the suitability to compete in all disciplines.

 

The first, second & third placed exhibits in class H27 will qualify for the 2008 SWPA In-Hand

X Race Horse Championship.

 

H28         Competition Sport Horse / Pony. Any Age. (Special Best Youngstock)

 

The first, second & third placed exhibits in class H28 will qualify for the 2008 SWPA In-Hand Competition Horse / Pony Championship.

or Olympia are NOT eligible for the Pollyanna Amateur Riders Qualifiers.

The two highest placed ponies in classes R43 – R44 will qualify for the 2008 SWPA Novice Mini Ridden Championship.

 

NOVICE COMBINATIONS

 

R45         Novice Ridden Combination. Open to Any Type. Stallion, Mare or Gelding.

                 Four years old and over. Horse/Pony and Rider NOT to have competed as a ridden

                 combination prior to date of show. This rule will be strictly applied !!

                 To be shown in a SNAFFLE BRIDLE.

NOVICE RIDDEN CLASSES R46 – R51 Ponies / Horses not to have been placed first in ANY ridden class before

                 before 1st January in the current year.    

 

The highest placed exhibit not already qualified within the first six places in classes R54 – R55 will be

issued with a “Registration of Qualification” Certificate in the ring.
